Play Mix Anything

The game opens ready with Water, Fire, Earth and Air on the board. Tap one, then another, to mix them; there is nothing to set up and no clock.

Mix Anything cover art

Start with water, fire, earth and air and combine any two to make something new: steam, rainbows, islands and thousands more. Endless, with one optional target to make each day.

How to play

  1. Combine two things to make a new one. Drag one onto another, or tap one and then the other. The two disappear and the result takes their place on the board.
  2. Everything you make goes onto your shelf of discoveries. Tap anything on the shelf to put it on the board, or, with a chip on the board picked, tap a shelf item to mix the two straight away.
  3. Every pair always makes the same thing, for every player. Mixing a pair you already know brings back the same result; a pair nobody has tried yet is decided the first time anyone mixes it.
  4. Today鈥檚 target names one thing to make each UTC day. It is optional, every target can be reached from the four starting elements, and making it shows a short result before you keep mixing.
  5. Nothing runs out and nothing is lost: the board can be cleared at any time, and your shelf stays on this device.

Controls

Touch
Tap one thing, then another, to mix them. Tap a picked chip again to put it down, or tap empty board to move it there. Drag chips on the board onto each other.
Mouse
Drag anything from the shelf or the board onto a chip to mix, drop it on empty board to place it, or drag a chip off the board to put it away. Clicking works like tapping.
Keyboard
Tab to a chip or shelf item and press Enter or Space to pick and mix. Esc puts a picked chip down.

Score and progress

There is no score and no clock. Your shelf counts your discoveries. Something you make for the first time is marked New; if no player anywhere has made it before, it arrives with a First discovery badge. Making Today鈥檚 target shows how many mixes it took.

Questions before you play

How does this combine elements game work?

Drag one thing onto another, or tap one and then another, and they combine into something new. You start with Water, Fire, Earth and Air, and everything you make goes on your shelf, ready to mix again. There is no clock, no score and no end.

Where do the results come from?

The first mixes and every daily target are built into the game. A pair nobody has tried before is answered by AI, checked against a family-friendly filter, and saved for everyone, so the same pair always makes the same thing for every player. If the lab is busy or offline, every mix you already know keeps working.

What is the daily challenge?

Each UTC day there is one numbered challenge, such as Daily #3: Stone, with a par: the fewest mixes it takes from the four starting elements. Mixing freely does not count. The count starts when you tap Hint or make the first thing on the way to the target. Finish within two mixes of par for three stars, keep a daily streak going and share your result. It is optional: you can always just keep mixing.

What does First discovery mean?

When you are the first player anywhere to make something, it arrives with a First discovery badge and a burst of sparks. Anything else you make for the first time is marked New on your shelf.

Do I need an account or download?

No. Mix Anything is free in your browser with touch, mouse or keyboard. Your discoveries are saved on this device.
