Potion Sort color sorting puzzle guide

How to play

1. Tap a flask with potion in it to pick it up, then tap the flask to pour into. Tap the same flask again to put it back.
2. A pour moves the whole top color, as much as fits, but only onto the same color or into an empty flask. Each flask holds four layers.
3. A flask filled with four layers of one potion is corked: it scores 5 points the first time that potion is gathered in the puzzle and then stays as it is.
4. When every flask is corked or empty, the puzzle is solved and, after a short pause, the next one arrives. The first puzzle has three colors and each later puzzle adds one, up to eight, always with two empty flasks.
5. The puzzles come from the UTC date: everyone gets the same puzzles that day, and Replay starts again from the first one. Every puzzle is checked by a solver before it is shown, so it can always be solved.
6. Play the full 120-second round. At the end, 30 points earn one star, 250 earn two and 480 earn three. Keep sorting continues with no clock, and practice never changes your best.

Controls

Mouse or touch

Tap or click a flask to pick it up, then tap the flask to pour into. Undo and Restart puzzle sit under the shelf.

Keyboard

Number keys 1 to 9 and 0 pick flasks. Left and Right arrows move between flasks and Enter or Space taps the focused one. U undoes, R restarts the puzzle, Esc puts a flask back and P pauses.

Score and progress

A solved puzzle scores 15 points per color, and each corked potion adds 5. Par is the number of pours the built-in solver needed; it is a good route, not always the shortest. Solve within par for 15 more points per color. Each puzzle has three free undos; after that each undo costs 5 points, and Restart puzzle costs 10. Points never drop below zero. These are in-game points, not real money.

What the local challenge changes

A Local challenge locks one of three reviewed shelf rules before the round starts, rotating by UTC day. AI briefings and recaps are being prepared and are not available yet. Puzzles, pours and scoring still follow the local game rules.

Spare Flask

Every puzzle starts with three empty flasks instead of two. Par stays at the two-flask par, so the extra room makes par easier to reach.

Free Undo

Undo as often as you like; no undo costs points.

Par Bonus

Solving a puzzle within par earns double the par bonus: 30 points per color instead of 15.

The displayed local rule locks when you start. Local challenges and Classic need no AI response, and your skill decides the result.

At the end, the result shows stars, score, puzzles solved, puzzles solved within par, pours, undos, the longest run of puzzles within par and any actual challenge bonus points. A labeled Local reflection uses those recorded totals.
