How to solve any water sort level step by step
- Count your tubes. Tap the number that matches your level, empty tubes included. Then pick how many layers fit in one tube: most water sort and ball sort levels use 4, some use 3 or 5.
- Copy each tube from the bottom up. Tap a tube, then tap the color of its bottom layer, the next layer and so on up to the top. A full tube moves you to the next one automatically, and Undo layer takes back a wrong tap.
- Leave empty tubes empty. Each color button counts the layers you have placed, for example 3/4, so a miscounted color is easy to spot before you solve.
- Press Solve. You get a numbered list of moves such as “Move 1: tube 3 → tube 7”. Use Next and Back to see the tubes after each move, or Play to watch them all.
- Keep the answer. Copy all steps puts the whole move list on your clipboard, and Copy level link saves a link that reopens this level with its solution.
Tubes are numbered left to right, top row first, in the order you entered them. If your game shows two rows of tubes, enter the top row first. There is no database of numbered levels here: whether you are on level 101, 159 or 1051, the solver works the answer out from the tubes you enter, so any level of any water sort, color sort or ball sort game works as long as you can see every layer. Hidden “?” layers are not supported; play until they are uncovered, then enter the tubes as they look now.

Water sort tips that work on any level
- Keep an empty tube in reserve. An empty tube is the most valuable thing on the shelf. Fill it only when the pour finishes a color or frees a buried one.
- Pour onto deep runs. A tube with two or three layers of one color on top is close to done; feed it before you start a new pile.
- Dig out the buried colors first. The colors stuck at the bottom of several tubes decide the level. Plan to uncover them early.
- A pour moves the whole top run. Two matching layers on top travel together if there is room. When there is not, only what fits moves, which can leave a tube mixed.
- Count the layers. Every color fills exactly one tube, so it has as many layers as a tube holds. When a level looks impossible, check that you have not hidden the last layer of a color under another one.
How the solver works
The solver uses the same pour rules and search that Potion Sort uses to check that every one of its puzzles can be finished, with the tube size set to 3, 4 or 5 layers. It looks ahead through possible moves, prefers moves that join colors together and stops at the first full solution it finds, so the answer is short but not always the fewest moves. If that search comes up empty, a slower search tries every reachable arrangement and tells you whether the level truly has no solution. Everything runs in your browser, and it never shows Potion Sort’s daily puzzles.
Frequently asked questions
How do I solve water sort puzzle level 159?
Enter level 159 exactly as your game shows it: the number of tubes, how many layers fit in each and every tube’s colors from the bottom up, then press Solve. The solver does not look up a stored answer, because there is no level database here. It computes the moves for the tubes you enter, so it works the same way for level 101, 1051 or any other level.
Why does the solver say my level is unsolvable?
Usually because a tube was copied wrong. Every color has to fill exactly one tube, so each color needs as many layers as a tube holds, and the solver names any color with too few or too many. If the counts are right and it still finds no solution, it has tried every reachable arrangement: check the order of the layers and the layers per tube, or use your game’s extra-tube option.
Does it work for ball sort and color sort puzzles?
Yes. Color sort levels use the same pour rules as water sort. For ball sort, a move of two or three layers is the same number of single-ball moves from that tube to the same target, one after another. Tubes can hold 3, 4 or 5 layers or balls.
Can it solve levels with hidden question mark layers?
No. Some levels hide the lower layers behind a question mark, and the solver needs every color to find a solution it can trust. Play until the hidden layers show, then enter the tubes as they look now.
Can I solve a level I have already started?
Yes. Enter the tubes as they look right now, including half-full ones. As long as every color still has all of its layers, the solver works from that point. If no sequence of moves can finish the level, it says so.
Is the water sort puzzle solver free?
Yes. It is free, with no account and no download, and it runs in your browser. The level you enter is solved on your device, and a level link keeps the tubes in the link itself.
