Slide alchemy elements on a 4x4 board and merge matching pairs from Dew up to the Elixir of Life. No clock: plan each move until the board fills.

How to play

  1. Swipe or press an arrow key. Every element on the 4×4 board slides as far as it can in that direction.
  2. Two matching elements that meet merge into the next one: Dew, Spark, Pebble, Leaf, Mushroom, Crystal, Moon, Sun, Star, the Philosopher’s Stone and the Elixir of Life. Each element merges at most once per move, and in a row of three matching elements the pair nearest the side you slide toward merges first. Two Elixirs do not merge.
  3. After every move that changes the board, one new element appears in an empty cell: usually Dew, sometimes Spark. A slide that changes nothing does not count as a move and adds nothing.
  4. The new elements follow the UTC date: everyone using the same rule and making the same moves on the same day sees the same board, and Replay starts that board again with the same rule. Practice uses random new elements and never changes your best.
  5. There is no clock and no undo. The board ends when no slide can change it. Your unfinished board is saved on this device and comes back paused after a refresh.

Controls

Touch or mouse
Swipe or drag on the board in the direction you want every element to slide.
Keyboard
Arrow keys or W, A, S and D slide. P pauses and resumes. Holding a key does not repeat moves.

Score and progress

Each merge scores the classic 2048 value of the element it makes: Spark 4, Pebble 8, Leaf 16, Mushroom 32, Crystal 64, Moon 128, Sun 256, Star 512, the Philosopher’s Stone 1024 and the Elixir of Life 2048. Stars come from the largest element you reach: Mushroom for one, Sun for two and the Philosopher’s Stone for three. These are in-game points, not real money.

What the local challenge changes

A Local challenge locks one of three reviewed board rules before the board starts, rotating by UTC day. AI briefings and recaps are being prepared and are not available yet. Sliding, merging, the new-element sequence and scoring still follow the local game rules.

Crystal Seed
The board starts with a Crystal already in place, beside the two usual starting elements.
Calm Spawns
Every new element is Dew; Spark never appears on its own.
High Tier Bonus
Merges that make Crystal or anything larger score 50% more: Crystal 96, Moon 192, Sun 384, up to 3072 for the Elixir of Life.

The displayed local rule locks when you start. Local challenges and Classic need no AI response, and your skill decides the result.

At the end, the result shows stars, score, your largest element, moves, the most merges in a single move and any actual High Tier Bonus points. A labeled Local reflection uses those recorded totals.

Questions before you play

What do Local challenges change in Elemental 2048?

AI briefings and recaps are being prepared and are not available yet. Local challenges and Classic are free to play. A Local challenge locks one of three reviewed board rules before you start: Crystal Seed starts the board with a Crystal already in place, Calm Spawns makes every new tile Dew, and High Tier Bonus adds 50% to merges that make Crystal or anything larger. Sliding, merging and scoring stay on your device, and players using the same rule and making the same moves see the same new tiles each UTC day. At the end, compare your score, largest element and any actual challenge bonus, with a labeled Local reflection.

Do I need an account or download?

No. You can play for free in your browser with swipes or the keyboard. Progress, best scores, your largest element and an unfinished board stay on your current device.
