Fit shapes, pull weeds and plan rows, columns or a multi-line clear on an untimed 8×8 grid. Preview the exact score and rule bonus before placing.

How to play

  1. Select one of the three waiting shapes and place it on empty squares of the 8×8 board. Shapes cannot rotate or overlap occupied squares, including weeds.
  2. Complete a row or column to clear it and pull any weeds in that line. All full rows and columns clear together; using all three shapes deals a new tray.
  3. The daily puzzle starts with six weeds and the same date-based opening on replay. Later shape deals may change when a drawn shape has no room. Classic starts with an empty board and fresh random shapes.
  4. The daily goal is five cleared lines, with no timer. The garden sprouts on your first clear and blooms at the daily goal; Classic blooms at ten lines. You may continue after reaching the goal. A run ends when none of the waiting shapes fits.

Controls

Mouse or touch
Select a shape, then click or tap the square for its top-left corner. You can also drag a shape onto the grid.
Keyboard
Use Tab and Enter to select a shape, then arrow keys to move around the board and Enter to place it. Escape clears your selection.

Score and progress

Earn one point per square placed and 10 per cleared row or column before daily bonuses. Each weed cleared with its line adds 5 points. After selecting a shape, hover, drag or use grid arrow keys to preview the points before placing. The score panel separates the rule bonus from weed points; a tap still places immediately. Classic has no opening weeds or daily line bonus; its normal placement and clearing rules still apply.

One move, one cleared row

Illustrated example · not a gameplay recording

Before: one square to fill

After: room to build again

Place a one-cell shape in row 4, column 8 (highlighted). The completed row clears. With no weeds in this example, the move earns 11 points in Classic or 21 with Row reward: 1 placement point plus 10 or 20 line points.

Empty squares alone do not guarantee a move: a shape needs its entire footprint to fit in empty squares.

What the AI challenge changes

When AI responds, it writes a garden mission and chooses one reviewed scoring rule. The daily opening weeds and shape draws come from the local date seed. You decide every placement; AI cannot place a shape or change the board.

Row reward
Each cleared row earns 20 line points; columns still earn 10.
Column reward
Each cleared column earns 20 line points; rows still earn 10.
Combo reward
Clearing two or more lines in one placement earns 20 points per line. A single cleared line still earns 10.

The displayed rule locks when you start. Classic mode needs no AI response, and a late response cannot change a run already in progress. If AI is unavailable, a clearly labeled local challenge keeps the game playable.

The result shows weeds pulled, your best for the daily puzzle and rule bonus points above classic line scoring. An optional reflection uses your measured score, cleared lines, moves, largest combo and run duration. If the reflection service is unavailable, the result uses a labeled local reflection.

Questions before you play

How does AI change Glyph Grid?

AI can pick one scoring rule: bonus points for rows, columns, or clearing two or more lines together. Preview the exact score before you place, then check earned rule points after the run. Classic uses standard line scoring; a local challenge is labeled when AI is unavailable.

Do I need an account or download?
