THE ALCHEMIST'S LADDER

Slide two of a kind together.

Your board has not started yet.

  1. Slide. Swipe on the board or press an arrow key (or W, A, S, D). Every element moves as far as it can that way.
  2. Merge. Two matching elements that meet become the next one: Dew, Spark, Pebble, Leaf, Mushroom, Crystal, Moon, Sun, Star, the Philosopher's Stone and the Elixir of Life. Each element merges at most once per move.
  3. Keep room. After every move that changes the board, a new Dew or Spark appears in an empty cell. The board ends when no slide can change it.

Each merge scores the classic 2048 value of the element it makes: Spark 4, Pebble 8, Leaf 16, up to 2048 for the Elixir of Life. Stars come from the largest element you reach: Mushroom for one, Sun for two and the Philosopher's Stone for three.

There is no clock and no undo. The new elements follow the UTC date, so players using the same rule and making the same moves on the same day see the same board. Your unfinished board is saved on this device.

Choose Classic or a challenge before starting. Its rule stays fixed for that board.

Keyboard: arrow keys or W A S D slide · P pause. Game shortcuts wait while this help is open.
